How to Set up an Account

  • To set up an account, click on the Login / Register button, and in the new window, click on the “Sign up for Free” button.
  • In the registration page, select a user type, enter your details into the required fields and click the “Sign up” button.
  • If you’re setting up a teacher account, you will be prompted to create or join a school.
  • To join a school, type the school’s postcode into the search postcode field and click on the “join” button next to the school’s name.
  • Once you have confirmed your request to join the school, a request email will be sent to the school administrator for approval.
  • To create a school account, enter your school name and postcode into the required field and click on the create school button.



How to Set up or Join a School

  • If your school hasn’t used Maths Tutor app before, you will need to create a school account.
  • To do this, click on the blue user management icon in the left menu, followed by the “Create or join a school” button.
  • In the new window, just enter your school name, postcode, and then click on the Create School button.
  • If your school is already set up on Maths Tutor, you can request access to the account.
  • To do this, click on the blue user management icon in the left menu, followed by the “Create or join a school” button.
  • In the new window, type your school’s postcode into the search postcode field and click on the “join” button next to the school’s name.
  • Once you have confirmed your request to join the school, a join request email will be sent to the school administrator.




How to Add Teachers and Students

Setting Up Teachers:
  • To add teachers and students to your school, log in with your username and click the blue User Management Icon in the side menu.
  • Next to the Teacher Header, click on the “Add” button.
  • You will first need to decide the level of teacher permission for each user.
  • To find out what restrictions apply for each teacher permission type, select one and click the small “i” icon in the box to the right.
  • Once you have selected an appropriate teacher permission, you will need to fill in the rest of the details. Don’t forget to enter a new unique username for each user, along with their email address and password.
Setting Up a Class:
  • Before setting up student accounts, we recommend setting up your classes. This will make it easy for you to allocate students to classes.
  • To setup a class, click on the create class button, enter the class name and click add.
Setting Up Students:
  • To add student accounts, click on the Add button next to the Student header, complete the required fields and click add.


How to Purchase Maths Subject Apps and Allocate Content to Students

How to Purchase:

These instructions are for the web-based version of the app, go to https://apps.daydreameducation.com/maths-tutor/app/

  • To make a purchase you will need to be logged into the app.
  • App purchases for individual users can be made by clicking on the price button next to each app topic and entering your payment details in the new window.
  • To purchase apps for multiple users and benefit from huge discounts, a teacher account is needed. To set up a teacher account, select Teacher in the User Type field when registering.
  • We recommend using the web-based app when purchasing more than 10 users as more purchase options and discounts are available. Also, promo codes can only be redeemed on the web version of the app.
  • To purchase apps for multiple users, click on the + icon next to the desired topic.
  • Then, in the new window, click on the relevant price button.
  • For example, to purchase the Problem Solving app for 30 users, click on the corresponding price button in the Problem Solving row.
  • Remember, you can purchase all topics at the same time for a much bigger discount.
  • Once you have entered your payment details, you will be redirected to the user-management section of the app, where you can allocate the purchases to users.
How to Allocate Apps to Users:
  • New app purchases can be allocated to users in the Content Management section. This is the purple folder icon in the side menu.
  • Within this section you can allocate apps to teachers or students.
  • If you have not set up users yet, this can be done in the User Management section (which is the blue icon in the side menu).
  • To allocate app purchases to students, click on the students tab and find the user that you want to allocate an app to.
  • Then scroll to the right until you find the app that you want to allocate to the user and click on the corresponding circle.
  • This can be repeated for multiple apps and users.
  • Once you have finished allocating all app purchases, click on the assign button in the top right corner of the screen and all users will now have access to the allocated apps.
  • Teacher allocations are performed in the same way.
  • To unallocate apps from a user, you will need to delete the user.
  • Remember, Maths Tutor is multi-platform so you and your students will now be able to login and use the apps inside and outside of school on a laptop, PC, Mac, iPad or Android tablet.



How to Redeem a Promotional Code

  • Promotional codes cannot be redeemed using an iPad or Tablet, so you will need to use a laptop, PC or Mac.
  • To redeem a promotional code, you will need to be logged into the web-based version of the Maths Tutor app.
  • Once logged in click on the plus icon next to the desired topic.
  • In the new window, enter your promotional code in the box at the top and click on the submit button.
  • If entered correctly, your promotional code will now be active.
